#848: Track MINI

Meet Number 848, he's VIN ending in TD50848, which means he is the 848th Cooper S built for the U.S. He's a March 2002 build, so he's pretty much the oldest MINI around in the 'states. As you can see, he's still in great condition! I picked him up from a very cool fellow auto enthusiast in Pennsylvania this weekend. #848 is Electric Blue with a white roof, and the only option is the Sport Package, which consists of Xenon headlights, front Fog lights, DSC, and the 17" S-lite "boat anchors". He only has 39k miles on him, woo hoo, he still feels like a new car, well, with a few exceptions. For those that have owned an '02, they have their own little quirks; the heavy clutch, the creaking steering column, no tool kit, the old-style intercooler diverter and cowl vents, relatively useless front crash structure reinforcement brackets, and the "bouncing" non de-bounce switch rear hatch mechanism.
